ZP meet : Members to go to divisional commissioner

Though Zilla Parishad members had opposed to conduct standing committee meeting via video conferencing, office bearers and administration had conducted it.
Standing committee members Dr Atmaram Kumbharde and Yatin Kadam had demanded to conduct meeting in a hall at new building maintaining social distancing and had warned to boycott it if administration fails. Chairperson Sanjay Bankar and Surekha Darade had also demanded to conduct the meeting in the hall to discuss agriculture and health related subjects. Members Mahendra Kale and Savita Pawar had also demanded the same to get information about functioning of the administration.
However, ZP chairman and administration conducted the meeting on Friday via video conferencing. BJP’s Dr Kumbharde, Yatin Kadam, Shiv Sena’s Savita Pawar and NCP’s Mahendra Kale boycotted the meeting. It was in discussions that though some office bearers decided not to attend the meeting, they were forced to attend it. Chairperson Bankar also walked out from the meeting within some minutes.
Give aid to Nashik district Nashik district has been hit by cyclone Nisarg. Crops on 191 hecatres of land were destroyed. 184 houses and schools were also damaged on large scale. For this state government provide aid to Nashik district on the lines of Raigad district, proposed in the standing committee of Zilla Parishad.
In the meeting, discussions were held on conducting assessment of crop losses, damage to houses and live stock loss in rural area due to cyclone Nisarg. it was instructed to conduct assessment reports to the district collectorate. A proposal to take follow up with District Guardian Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Agriculture Minister Dada Bhuse and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to get the aid for losses was passed in the meeting.
Chairperson of education and health committee Surekha Darade, Bhaskar Gavit and Chhaya Gotarne took part in the discussions. ZP chairman expressed his satisfaction over spending higher fund for financial year 2018-19 than the previous year. Chairperson of agriculture and animal husbundry committee Sanjay Bankar informed that chemical fertilisers will be made available to farmers at their farms on the backdrop of covid-19. District agriculture officer Ramesh Shinde informed that seeds are available for kharip sowing.

Though there was opposition by standing committee members, the meeting was conducted via video conferencing. There was not enough numbers. Some members attended the meeting for name’s sake only, while walked out the meeting within some minutes. As a result, this meeting is illegal and will go to the divisional commissioner against this.
