World Space Week to be held in Nashik from Oct 4


Nashik: The Nashik chapter of United States-based National Space Society (NSS), in association with Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj (MVPS), is organising the World Space Week from October 4 to 9 here.

Briefing about the week-long event, MVPS general secretary Nileematai Pawar said that it will be inaugurated by Minister of State for Defence, Dr Subhash Bhamre. “Then, a rally will be taken out in which about 1,000 students and dignitaries wearing specially designed T-shirt will participate,” she informed.

The motive of rally is to create awareness about the space science and technology among the public, especially students, and also highlight the works of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), she said.

The event will provide an opportunity for the students to interact with eminent scientists and engineers from ISRO and virtually online with NASA scientists and others to know about the research and development, achievements, current and future programmes, education and career opportunity daily from Oct 5 to 9 at Raosaheb Thorat hall, Ms Pawar said.
