Will rain affect the voting percentage in Nashik?
Nashik: The Indian Meteorology Department has predicted that Nashik and its neighboring region will receive moderate rains and isolated places will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall. The IMD has said that from October 18 to October 21, that is on the voting day Nashik is likely to receive rains throughout the district. The weather department has also said that on October 21 the Nashik region will receive rains accompanied by lightning and thunderstorm.
It is likely that the rains may hamper the voting in Nashik. The candidates too have expressed concern over the spell of rain and its impact on the voting day. The IMD in its advisory has said, “The Nashik district and its nearby region is likely to receive heavy to heavy rainfall for next five days that is from October 18 to October 22.
There will be loud peals of thunder with frequent lightning flashes, moderate to heavy spell of rain. The rains will be accompanied by the lightning and thunderstorm.” Concerns are being expressed that if the district receives heavy rains with lighting on voting day it is likely to affect the voting percent in Nashik.
The campaign for encouraging voters has been taken by administration, banks, NGO’s and even individuals campaigns are been running. The social media appeals have also been made by celebrities to voters requesting them to come out and vote.
