Unseasonal rain hits Nashik district
Nashik: Chandwad, Yeola, Sinnar and Niphad tehsils in Nashik district received unseasonal rain on Friday evening. Agriculture produce of farmers was destroyed by this rain, causing more worry for them.
As rain accompanied by strong wind started all of a sudden around 5 pm, farmers were trying to save their crops. The cucumber crop of Shivaji Punju Shelar at Vikharani in Yeola taluka was destroyed. He suffered from losses worth lakhs of rupees.
As fodder which was kept for cattle was destroyed, farmers will face its shortage in the next period. The main area in Chandwad, Ganur, Nimgavhan, Hivarkhede, Tisgaon, Mangrul and Sogras also received the unseasonal rain.
There was hailstorm at Deur in Sinnar tehsil. Drought affected Pangri villages in the eastern part of the tehsil also received the unseasonal rain. Nandur Shingote also witnessed the rain around 6 pm. The weekly bazaar here was disrupted due to this rain.
