Presenting her second Union Budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday said Budget 2020-21 is women around three prominent themes.
‘My Budget 2020 is woven around three themes- aspirational India to boost the standard of living; economic development for all; and building a humane and compassionate society,’ she said in the Lok Sabha.
FM Sitharaman said there is a Village Storage Scheme run by Self Help Groups which will provide holding capacity for farmers, adding that women in villages can regain their status as ‘Dhaanya Lakshmi’. An allocation of Rs 12,300 crore has been marked by Swachh Bharat Mission for the year 2020-21, she said.
Outlining schemes for the youth, she said youth and fishery extension work will be enabled by rural youth as ‘Sagar Mitras’, adding that 500 fish farmer producing organizations will be formed. An allocation of Rs 12,300 crore has been made for Swachh Bharat Mission in the Budget, the Minister informed. India has raised 271 million people out of poverty, she added.
