Traders at Ashok Stambh, MG road observe bandh
Nashik: Nashikites have to face inconvenience due to the slow pace of construction of smart road, going on for the last one-and-half year. As the business of traders in Mahatma Gandhi Road, which is the main market area is affected by this, a total of 56 traders in this area shut their shops for two hours between 3 pm to 5 pm on Monday to condemn the delay of waork by the Smart City company.
Thereafter, they met Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishna Game and gave a memorandum demanding to start the road immediately. As the Municipal Commissioner failed to give a firm assurance, traders are enraged and prepared to stage agitation.
The delegation of Ravindra Parakh, Hemant Kulkarni, Swapnil Deore, P P Nahar and others met Game As Mahatma Gandhi Road is the main market area of the city, traders and workers working in the shops are facing financial difficulty.
Traders in both sides of Mahatama Gandhi Road had convened an urgent meeting and had demanded to meet the Municipal Commissioner over their demand to open the road for traffic immediately. Mahatma Gandhi Road and Shivaji Road heading to Shalimar Chowk have been shut since September 22, 2019 due to last phase works of smart road work between Ashok Stambh and Trimbak Naka. In effect, there is an effect on the business of traders here.
