Deolali Camp : Brig Pradeep Kaul termed the social initiative taken by local traders’ association (Vyapari Sanstha) as “very inspiring for strengthening the very idea of Swachh Bharat Mission” while dedicating a public lavatory, here.
“This initiative for the traders and tourists is very inspiring as it supports the true cause of Swachh Bharat Mission,” said Brig Kaul while dedicating the public lavatory at the historic Zenda Chowk here.
MP Hemant Godse, MLA Yogesh Gholap, CEO Vilas Pawar, Col R N Singh, corporator Baburao Mojad, Sachin Thakare, Kaveri Kasar, Prabhavati Dhivare, municipal corporator Keshav Porje and Vishnu Panjabi were present as the chief guests.
“Based on the recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission, I am trying to implement various policies and programmes of the central government in the cantonment area,” stated MP Godse in his address.
Cantonment CEO Pawar on the occasion lauded the CSR initiative of the association, while in his reply, association president Suresh Kusalkar thanked the cantonment board for its consistent support to complete the task.
Earlier, revealing further about the future plans of the association, Navin Gurnani in his introductory speech said that the association would soon make available a drinking water facility at famous Levitt market.
MLA Gholap on the occasion announced Rs 20 lakh fund for the construction of public lavatories in the cantonment area. He also made an important announcement on the installation of CCTVs at prime locations within the board area to help maintain law and order and control crime. Besides association members, also present on the occasion were former cantonment vice president Dinkar Palde, Balasaheb Godse, Somnath Khatale, Popatrao Jadhav and James Barnard.
