Ring road construction gathers momentum Rs. 10,000 cr require for land acquisition

Nashik

Ring road construction in Nashik gains momentum with Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s recent visit, urging expedited progress. The Nashik Municipal Corporation has undertaken the ambitious task of constructing a 60-km ring road following the Deputy Chief Minister’s instructions. However, a significant hurdle looms in the form of a Rs. 10,000 crore expense for land acquisition, posing a potential challenge to the project’s smooth execution.
Concerns initially arose regarding the proposed 60-km Simhastha Parikrama route for the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela, with doubts about the project’s completion. During his visit to Nashik, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed the administration to emulate Pune’s success by constructing a ring road, emphasizing its role in fostering rapid city development. Despite the Municipal Corporation’s proactive steps, the pivotal question remains: who will bear the substantial Rs. 10,000 crore cost for land acquisition?
The Maharashtra State Road Development Authority (MSRDA) appeared hesitant to take on the project, likely due to the hefty estimated cost of Rs. 10,000 crore.
