A police case has been filed against 33 employees of Malegaon Municipal Corporation. All these employees are working on honorarium basis and they have been recruited recently. In view of the spread of coronavirus in Malegaon, these employees refused to attend their duties.
Municipal Commissioner Deepak Kasar gave a complaint in writing about this. Following a complaint by fire brigade officer Sanjay Pawar, a case has been filed against these employees at a police station.
The recruitment process had been conducted in February to fill up posts of watchman and peon. Following the recruitment of employees, they had been immediately appointed on February 12.
However, many employees refused to work. Though municipal administration called them many times and asked to join their duties, many have switched off their phones. Action against all employees has been taken under section 188.
