In the statement submitted to the Guardian Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, the affected farmers stated that land acquisition and calculation of acquired agricultural land by the Pune-Nashik railway line is underway at Mauje Nanegaon; Nashik. The land acquisition will cover an area of 21.5 hectares of perennial horticulture in the village. Grapes, onions, sugarcane, fruit trees, and other cash crops are grown in this area. The project will cause huge economic and perennial land loss to the farmers. They need fair compensation for the land as it is a perennial orchard, and their livelihood is agriculture.

Also, as the railway line will divide the farmers’ area into two to three pieces, they should purchase the entire area as per the consent. As the vineyards are of exportable quality, the farmers will suffer a huge financial loss.

The concerned department should arrange for the crossing of the affected pipeline at a distance of 25 meters. They should provide adequate compensation for pipeline wells and bore wells.

Affected farmers should get a project-affected certificate, and one member of the farmer’s family should get a job. There should be no red zone in addition to the area affected by the project, and railways should set up proper crossing for the railway line being set up in the village.
