Nashik-Pune rail line to boost development

NASHIK: The central government has approved the proposal for Nashik-Pune High Speed Railway. As this project will give a boost to the development of Nashik-PuneAhmednagar districts, it will add financial impetus to the development of these cities. “Along with these three districts, a proposal will be submitted to start Igatpuri to Manmad semi high speed railway line,” said Guardian Minister Bhujbal.

Minister for Food and Civil Supplies and District Guardian Minister Chhagan Bhujbal said that all the approvals have been received for starting this project and the work of this high speed railway line is being started expeditiously. Guardian Minister Chhagan Bhujbal was speaking at a review meeting on land acquisition of Nashik-Pune railway line held in the central hall of the Collectorate yesterday.

District Collector Suraj Mandhare, Managing Director of Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Sachin Kulkarni, Deputy District Collector Vasanti Mali and others were present. Guardian Minister Bhujbal said that Nashik-Pune semispeed railway line will be the first route in the country. The project is expected to cost Rs 1,639 crore and this 235-km green field semi high speed double line train will complete the journey in just two hours.
