MD drug seized

Nashik

The team of crime branch unit I on Wednesday seized MD drug worth Rs. 87,000 which was brought for sale by youth in the Mhasrul area of the city and registered a case under the NDPS Act at Adgaon police station. The MD drug has been found for the tenth time in Nashik.
The name of the suspected drug dealer is Dhammaraj alias Sagar Balasaheb Shardul (age 18, residing behind vegetable market, Mhasrul, Nashik).
Four months ago, the Mumbai police raided the drug factory, run by Lalit and Bhushan Panpatil brothers in Shinde village and seized drugs worth Rs 100 crore. Thereafter, crime branch unit I of Nashik police and NDPS team conducted raids and operations at various places and seized drugs worth crores of rupees.
More than 35 drug peddlers including Chhoti Bhabhi, her husband and others from Wadalagaon were arrested and more than four cases were registered under the NDPS Act. As MD drug was found on a large scale in Nashik, Nashik became infamous as a drug destination.
Meanwhile, in the wake of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the state home department has transferred police officers who have been in executive posts in the same district for three years or more as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India.
While the process of filing the charge sheet of these crimes by the investigation teams was going on, the team of the crime branch unit I on Wednesday laid a trap behind Hotel Peshwa on the road leading to Hanuman Nagar within the limits of Adgaon police station and detained Sagar Shardul when he came to sell the drug.
Adgaon police are investigating where Shardul brought this drug and who is his main mastermind and how he was running the drug chain.
