NASHIK: A major mishap on the main road at Wavre Nagar on Thursday was averted due to the alertness of BJP office bearers and citizens who prompted the MSEDCL to take quick preventive measures for the safety of passersby. At Wavre Nagar, a 132 KV high tension wire broke and fell on the main road. Fortunately, no one was found under the live wire and a major accident was averted.
At Vitthal Nagar area of DGP Nagar no. 3, on the main road from Khutwad Nagar to ITI bridge, a 132 KV wire from Eklahare to Satpur suddenly broke and half of the live wire fell directly on the road. As soon as BJP Kamgar Aghadi state president Pradip Peshkar and BJP general secretary Ashok Pawar came to know about this, they went to the spot and stopped traffic on both sides. Power supply was immediately cut off by informing the power department.
Employees of the electricity rushed to the spot and informed MSEDCL about this. MSEDCL Executive Engineer Navlakhe, Additional Executive Engineer SG Patil and other employees rushed to the spot and started the work immediately. It took about four to five hours to connect the wires. Fortunately, even if a major accident was averted, there was an atmosphere of fear among residents in the area.
