5,000 beds vacant in the city

NASHIK: Nashik district and city are witnessing a decline in the number of Covid-19 patients. Of the total 8,214 beds reserved for Covid patients in 188 hospitals in the city, 5,775 beds are vacant. At present, 2439 beds are occupied. Currently, 2,477 oxygen beds and 463 ventilator beds are available.

Meanwhile, Nashik Municipal Corporation has not permitted to convert any Covid hospital into a non-Covid hospital. The Covid Centres are not closed yet. The number of patients in 15 Covid Care centres in the city has also been dropped. 132 beds out of the total 180 beds in NMC’s MERI Covid Care Center are vacant, while 309 beds of the total 500 beds in the social welfare department hostel are vacant and 297 beds out of 325 beds in Thakkar’s Dome are vacant. Out of 400 beds in Bytco hospital, only 12 general beds are vacant.

The number of patients at the five Covid Centers in the city has now dropped to zero. All the 15 beds in Parnerkar Maharaj hospital are vacant. Fifty beds are also vacant in the building of the fire brigade at Nashik Road. Fifty beds at the Jain International Center in Hotel Emerald Park, 42 beds at Maheshwari Students Center and 20 beds at Kutchi Lohana mangal karyalaya are all vacant.
