A total of 19,644 cases have been settled in National Lok Adalat which was organised on Saturday. A recover of Rs 24.93 crore has been made through these cases. Lok Adalat was organised in the district court as well as in all courts in Nashik district.
Following the order by Maharashtra state Legal Service Authority, Lok Adalat was organised in Nashik district court, civil and criminal courts, Nashik Road court, family court and motor vehicle court. Cases regarding civil, criminal, motor vehicle accident, family dispute, land acquisition, cheque bounce, financial institution and pending amount recovery of government establishments had been kept in the Adalat.
A total of 1,06,717 pre-litigation cases have been kept in the Lok Adalat. Of them, 17,939 cases were settled, informed sources from the district court. Recovery of Rs 13.14 crore has been made through them. A total of 346 cases regarding recovery of money, 542 cases related to MSEDCL, 41 cases related to the family dispute and other 17,010 cases have been settled.
Cases in higher numbers are pending in the court. Lok Adalat is a strong option to settle them.
The objective behind this is to settle cases mutually and as there is no provision of appeal in settled cases, the dispute is over.
Parties also get relief as the dispute is solved amicably, mentioned chief judge. Of the total 10,399 cases which had been kept in Lok Adalat, 1705 cases have been settled. Recovery of Rs 11.79 crore has been made through these cases. Recovery of Rs 6.52 crore has been made through the cases related to cheque bounce.
