Nashik: Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has decided to stop water supply today in the entire city. There will be no water supply in all the divisions of the city. The decision was taken due to repair works to be done in connection with pipeline connectivity. The apex body of the city has taken repairs and maintenance work of water pumps and connecting lines of Gangapur and Mukane Dam.
The Corporation’s Public Health and Engineering departments have announced to stop water supply on September 21 through a notification. The Corporation has said that it received complains about low-pressure supply of water in many areas of the city, leakage in pipeline in Siddharth Nagar Colony area and maintenance work is to be done on September 21.
The Corporation has also decided to repair the pipeline from Gangapur dam pumping station to Bara Bungalow water filter house, changing of 900mm pipeline at Panchavati water filter house,pipeline connections and changing of rising main over valve at Mhasarul.
The maintenance work of Kalika pumping station, Gandhi Nagar water filter house, raw water valve repair, repairs of rising main at Nashik Road-Pawarwadi, cross-connection supply at New Nashik mainline, repairs at Shivaji Nagar water filter house, These works are very important for smooth water supply in city, said NMC in the notification.
It has also highlighted that the pumping station maintenance at Ganagapur dam and Mukane dam is very important for city and that to will be conducted today. The notification has also alerted about the water supply on Sunday. It has said that the water supply on Sunday will below in the city. The pressure of water will also remain low due to the works. The officials of NMC have requested the citizens to cooperate on the following days.
