Take back cases against farmers immediately, NCP to Dist Collector


NASHIK: Opposition Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) yesterday slammed the government for engineering a split in the agitating farmers and demanded that criminal cases filed against the agitating farmers should be withdrawn immediately.

“The NCP will intensify its agitation until and unless fake cases filed against the agitating farmers are withdrawn with immediate effect,” the NCP said in its memorandum submitted to district collector Radhakrishnan B yesterday.

“Announce crop loan waiver and provide credit supply to the farmers without delay, provide MSP to agricultural produce on the basis of productivity cost, waive electricity bills of the farm pumps and stop loadshedding in rural parts,” the memorandum said.

It further demanded construction of sports complex of international standard at Anjaneri in Trimbakeshwar taluka as an inspiration and to produce international level athletes like marathon runner Kavita Raut.

Party activists NCP (youth) state pradesh president Sangram Kote, district president Adv Ravindra Pagar, MLC Jaywant Jadhav, Hiraman Khoskar, Ambadas Khaire, Purushottam Kadlag, Prerna Balkawade, Deepak Wagh, Kailas More, Balasaheb Mhaske, Dnyaneshwar Tidme, Arjun Khandbahale, Dhavalu Phasale and Balasaheb Bodke among others were present.

Meanwhile, the youth wing of the NCP also held a bike rally yesterday from Mumbai Naka to the district collectorate in which over 500 activists participated in support of the agitating farmers.
