Suspected WhatsApp hacker shifted to central prison


Nashik: The district court remanded the hacker who had hacked WhatsApp accounts of women and girls in Nashik, Mumbai and Pune to judicial custody. He was shifted to central prison at Nashik Road thereafter.

The name of the suspect is Diptesh Prakashchandra Salecha (24, resident of Jasolgaon, tal. Pachdara, district Barmer, Rajasthan). Cyber wing of Nashik police had arrested him on July 1 from Rajasthan.

Salecha had hacked WhatsApp group accounts of women, girls and industrialists in Nashik and shared obscene message and videos on them. Offence against him has also been registered at Pune, Mumbai and Gujarat. Salecha was first remanded to seven days’ police custody and it was extended by three days thereafter.

As he was remanded to judicial custody, he was shifted to the central prison. Police from Pune, Mumbai and Sabarmati in Gujarat were also present.
