Suresh Jain shifted to Mumbai
Nashik: Former minister Suresh Jain who is in Nashik Road central prison after he was awarded punishment in connection with housing scam worth Rs 100 crore in Jalgaon was admitted to the district hospital on Tuesday evening due to bad health.
Thereafter, it has been decided to shift him to Mumbai’s J J hospital for further treatment. The special court on August 31 at Dhule awarded punishments to a total of 48 accused including Jain in connection with housing scam at Jalgaon. Thereafter, all accused are undergoing the jail term at Nashik Road central prison. Suresh Jain has been awarded jail term for 7 years and a fine of Rs 100 crore has been imposed against him.
As blood sugar of Jain reached 297 he felt restless on Tuesday. The prison administration immediately admitted Jain at the district civil hospital around 4 pm. During the primary investigation, it came to light Jain was suffering from chest pain.
It also noted that his blood pressure was increased. As surgery on his heart was performed earlier, he felt more pain, sources informed. Medical officials tried to bring his blood sugar and blood pressure under control.
In the meantime, it has been advised to treat Jain at Mumbai’s J J hospital, informed additional district civil surgeon Dr Nikhil Saindane. Jain was taken back to prison after 6 pm.
After fulfilment of necessary documents there, he will be shifted to J J hospital for further treatment, clarified the prison administration.
