Soon, action against unauthorised shrines


Nashik: As per orders of Supreme Court, action to demolish unauthorised shrines in the state has to be completed by November, 2017. Considering this, action plan will be prepared to demolish remaining unauthorised shrines in the city as per classification and table it by August 15, instructed Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Krishna to officials.

The Supreme Court had instructed the state government to remove unauthorised shrines. Accordingly, action was taken in the state. As action against some shrines stayed after court order in last month, all Municipal Corporations and Municipal Councils stopped the action. All petitions which were filed against the action were resolved. A work has undertaken to remove all unauthorised shrines.

On the backdrop of this, a meeting of the committee which has been formed to remove unauthorised shrines was conducted with the Municipal Commissioner and NMC officials. The Municipal Commissioner instructed all the officials to prepare action plan for removal of unauthorised shrines and table it till August 15.

All unauthorised shrines on NMC, Cidco, MIDC, other government places and private places will be removed. After preparation of the action plan, action to remove unauthorised shrines will be taken within some days.
