Smart road work delay increases cost
Nashik: The cost expense of the first smart road between Ashok Stambh to Trimbak Naka has been increased more due to delay. The initial cost expense of the road was Rs. 16.15 crore. The officials of Nashik Municipal Smart City Development Corporation have confirmed this development.
Nashik Municipal Smart City Development Corporation has undertaken a work to construct the first smart road between Ashok Stambh to Trimbak Naka having a distance of 1.1 km. As per the road model prepared by the advisory company of the Nashik Municipal Smart City Development Corporation, 7.5 metres of space has been left for the road and footpath and cycle track are being constructed in rest space.
The construction of the first model road in the city is being on after approval to the expense of Rs. 16.15 crore. Though the work has been delayed for some time due to a parallel distance of both sides of the road, the concerned contractor has been given March 31, 2019 as a deadline.
However, the work has not been completed in a given period, citizens have to face a huge inconvenience. The Municipal Commissioner has issued a notice asking to pay fine to the contractor over the slow pace of work.
Some items in the work model have been cancelled. A remodel of the work has been prepared and expense on the road has been increased. Doubt is being expressed with this.
