Shops selling monsoon essentials allowed to open till September 30

NASHIK :

Ahead of monsoon which is predicted by IMD to be arrived in time, district collector Suraj Mandhare has allowed shops selling monsoon essentials to be kept open till September 30.

The collector has brought the shops selling umbrellas, raincoats and two-wheeler seat covers under the essential services so that citizens can prepare for the rainy season and children for schools reopening.

These shops can be kept open till September 30. The collector has issued the above order in this regard.

During the ongoing lockdown, food, groceries, vegetables, fruits, medical services and other essential services have been allowed to continue. It has also been allowed to gradually start standalone shops. While the inclusion of monsoon essentials in the essential services will ease difficulties of citizens during the rainy season.

Relaxations have been given at various stages from time to time during this extending lockdown. Shops are operating from 9 am to 5 pm, as a result, some movement is seen in the markets currently. Liquor shops under stricter guidelines have also been permitted, citing the need to boost the economy.

The government order dated May 2 stipulates that shops will be opened only for items that are useful in the rainy season, including umbrellas, raincoats and seat covers. Besides, there are clear orders to keep these shops open until September 30. This means that it can be opened only during the rainy season.
