Security arrangements in place for smooth conduct of elections
Ahead of October 21 state assembly elections, Nashik district rural police machinery has geared up to ensure smooth conduct of polls. According to rural police adequate security arrangements have been made in order to ensure peaceful election in the district.
Around 1000 armed police personnel comprised of CRPF, railway protection force and plattoons of Gujarat reserve police force are being deployed for the polls. Quick Response teams will be provided in each assembly constituency besides ample deployment of forces at 32 sensitive polling stations out of a total 3423 stations in the district.
Five plattoons of the CRPF equipped with 500 cops are being deployed to protect 10 strong rooms where sealed EVMs, VVPATs will be stored after voting. These strong rooms will have CCTV cameras.
Drones will be put in service in sensitive talukas of Malegaon and Niphad among others for effective prevention of anti-social elements. Polls are due in the state on October 21, while counting of votes will be held on October 24.
