School girls send rakhis for jawans on borders


Deolali Camp : Acknowledging the magnitude of the role being played by the men in uniform, a Zilla Parishad school based in Shingave Bahula village near here, ahead of Rakshabandhan festival being celebrated Monday, has sent rakhis to soldiers who guard our borders.

Earlier, the school girls tied rakhis to jawans, Nayak Dharmendra Malakar, Bipin Mohan and others in a special function held in the school premises.

Nayak Malakar said that this initiative will inspire and motivate them to guard the boundaries of the nation. “The initiative is undertaken every year as mark of respect and salute our brave solders who are unable to celebrate our festivals while performing their duties,” said Shiv Yuva Pratishthan president Pramod Mojad.

On the occasion, Sanjay Borse who chaired the function expressed his thoughts. Earlier, Ratnamala Bairagi gave an introductory speech, Kailas Shewale anchored the programme, while Madhuri Salunkhe proposed the vote of thanks. Besides teachers and non-teaching staff of the school, local villagers were present in large numbers.
