Rasbihari’s Pradnyesh wins a trophy in UCMAS competition
NASHIK: A grade 4 student Mast Pradnyesh Bhadke of Rasbihari International School bagged the first rank in the merit of UCMAS, Abacus, a national level competition of Abacus held in Ahmedabad. Total 7000 students from all over India participated in the competition.

In this competition, students had to solve total 200 sums in 8 minutes. Pradnyesh solved 187 sums in 8 minutes and got the first merit prize. The committee announced total 10 merit prizes from India. Pradnesh was one of them. Two students from Nashik got the merit prizes.  The School Principal Bindu Vijaykumar and management staff congratulated him for his achievement.

Rasbiharian boy Rohan shines in Karate
Rohan Shilawat, Grade 9 student of  Rasbihari International School qualified in the Karate competition organised by District and Youth Service Directorate, Maharashtra State, Pune, District Sports Officers, Nashik and District Sports Council, Nashik.

The matches were held at Meenatai Thackeray Stadium Regional Sports Complex, here. Various schools in the city participated in the competition.  Roshan played in the Under-17 category. He bagged the second position and qualified for divisional level Karate matches. He was coached under the guidance of Ms Heera Bulakhe. The school Principal Mrs Bindu Vijaykumar, school management and the entire staff congratulated the students for their success.

 

St. Francis, Tidke colony hosts storytelling & debate competition
NASHIK: St. Francis High School, Tidke Colony, Nashik hosted zonal level story narration & debate competition – 2018. St. Francis High School, Rane Nagar, Ryan International School, Tagore Nagar and Ozar were the contesting schools.

One team from each group namely Std. I & II, III & IV for storytelling and Std V & VI, VII & VIII, std. IX & X participated in the debate competition. St. Francis High school, the Tidke colony was the host school and made appropriate arrangement for the debate and story narration.
The teams of each school were encoded by the names such as Trishul, Prithvi, Brahmos and Agni.

Judges Pushpalata Bhandari and Yogita Kulkarni were present in order to judge the story narration, while judges Sumita Sarkar, Dhwani Shah, Sushma Lele, Payal, Devaki Kulkarni, Yogita Kulkarni and Abhir Khan were present in order to judge the debate.

The topics for debate of various age groups were: Should plastics shopping bags be completely banned?; Is television an effective tool in building the mind of children?; and Reading v/s Google.

The headmistress of the schoolKusuma Shetty chalked out the plan of the debate and story narration competition. Both the competitions took place in the same school on different floors. All English teachers of the school took pains in taking efforts for the success of the competition. The Chairman and Managing Director Grace Pinto extended their best wishes to the contestants.

RIS, Ojhar celebrates Teacher’s Day
NASHIK: RIS Ojhar School celebrated Teacher’s day with zeal & zest. There was an unusual excitement in the school atmosphere. The student of grade VI, VII & VIII took over the duties of teachers for the day.

A special assembly was held in which the students paid homage to their teachers. Headmistress read the Managing Director Madam’s message of good wishes for all the teachers. There was a vibrant array of performance by the students including dance, orchestra & skit which enthralled the teachers & students. The program ended with a tree plantation by all the teachers.
