School of Artillery organises cycling expedition on 190th Gunners’ Day


Devlali Camp: 190th Gunners’ Day was celebrated at School of Artillery with full military fanfare recently. A cycling expedition was organised by School of Artillery from 28 September to October 3, 2017 to commemorate this momentous occasion, which also coincided with 150th year of establishment of Devlali military station. The aim of the expedition was to infuse adventure spirit amongst soldiers and visit places of historical interest in vicinity of Devlali.

The expedition was flagged off by Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh Salaria, Vishisht Seva Medal, Commandant School of Artillery, who motivated the soldiers to undertake similar adventure activities in future and maintain the high standards of professionalism in regiment of artillery. The expedition comprised 2 officers and 10 other ranks, and covered a distance of 500 kilometres along the route Devlali-Yeola-Aurangabad-Ahmednagar-Shirdi-Devlali.

The expedition also visited various military stations enroute and spread the message of peace, solidarity, oneness and the indomitable spirit of gunners of the Indian army.
