Samruddhi expressway; 600 farmers give their nod


Nashik: Around 600 farmers from Igatpuri and Sinnar talukas have come forward and showed their readiness to give their lands. A letter regarding this has been presented to administration, informed District Collector Radhakrishnan B.

Farmers are giving response for land acquisition for Samruddhi expressway, he informed further. So far, 87.17 hectares of land has been directly purchased from 234 farmers. 142 farmers are from Sinnar taluka, while 92 are from Igatpuri taluka. Around 100 crore was deposited on bank accounts of the farmers for this.

On one hand some farmers from Sinnar and Igatpuri talukas are fighting a judicial battle, while on the other administration is getting success in diverting minds of the farmers. However, there is still opposition from some villages.

19 farmers from Sinnar taluka and 16 farmers from Igatpuri taluka have come forward to give their lands. So far, 606 farmers from both talukas are ready to give their lands. Administration has started a process to possess total 384 hectares of land. More farmers would come forward till Diwali to give their lands, confided the administration.
