Rural cyber police station operationalised


Nashik : Curbs will now be put on rising crimes using computer, mobile phone and social media through cyber police station, informed special Inspector General of Police (Nashik circle) Vinoykumar Choube.

A cyber police station has been started at Adgaon headquarter of rural police. Special IG Vinoykumar Choube inaugurated this police station, conference hall and pre-marriage counselling centre. SP Ankush Shinde, Additional SP Vishal Gaikwad, DySP Atul Zende, police inspector Kishore Navale, other police officials and personnel were also present.

Choube said that modern facilities like internet, mobile and computer are used on large scale in rural area. Criminals activities are committed many times through social media. Cyber police station can be effectively used to prevent these. He also provided his guidance about cyber crime, online cheating, misuse of social media and recent ransomware virus attack to those who were present.

A police officer and five personnel have been appointed at this cyber police station. Video conference hall in SP office has been started now and discussions with DGP office and police district chiefs in the state can be made through video conferencing. A facility to record statement of witness in important cases online has been made available with this, sources informed.

In addition, five small documentaries have been prepared for citizens through the concept by SP Ankush Shinde. Information in detail about precautions to be taken by citizens during crisis situation in the district, thefts, robberies, riots, illegal trades and how to get immediate help regarding eve teasing was given and guidance was provided what care citizens should take to prevent such incidents.

Meanwhile, a pre-marriage counselling centre has been started under women safety department at Adgaon police headquarter. Family life is destructed through minor difference between husband and wife. A guidance about problems in married life will be provided to youths and girls before their marriage. Facility has been made available on the website of rural police to register names. This centre will become effective due to this, confided the police officials.
