Raise voice against sexual abuse of child: Satyarthi


Nashik : The minor children in country are witnessing sexual abuse and exploitation on large scale. In addition, child trafficking is taking place on large scale. All society should raise voice against this, urged son of Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, Bhuvan Ribhu.

He was speaking after historic Bharat Yatra reached Golf Club ground. Awareness about ‘secure childhood, secure India’ was created through the Yatra.

Ribhu in his introductory speech explained about Bharat Yatra and objective behind its organisation. The Bharat Yatra began thereafter. It passed through Eidgah Maidan, Anna Bhau Sathe chowk, Shalimar chowk, Shalimar, Nehru garden, M G Road and returned to Eidgah maidan to culminate there.

Mayor Ranjana Bhansi, MLA Deoyani Pharande, NMC standing committee chairperson Shivaji Gangurde, house leader Dinkar Patil, corporator Dr. Hemlata Patil, social activist Mukteshwar Munshettiwar and Nishikant Pagare were present.

Various NGOs, girl-students of nursing colleges and students of NMC and private schools gathered on Eidgah Maidan in large numbers. Ribhu administered an oath to those who were present against exploitation and sexual abuse of children.

The Bharat Yatra has been started under leadership of Nobel Peace Laureate Kailas Satyarthi since September 11. Six groups of the Bharat Yatra passed through Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh and created awareness about exploitation and sexual abuse of children. Six groups of the Bharat Yatra are travelling the entire country and son of Satyarthi, Ribhu had arrived in the city. The Yatra then left for Malegaon.
