Nashik : The incessant rains lashed the district for third consecutive day yesterday. On an average 214 mm rainfall was recorded on Saturday. Incessant rains continued throughout the day yesterday. On an average 148 mm rainfall was recorded on Sunday. District received 370 mm rainfall in last two days. Water level in the district dams is increasing following incessant rains. However, rains turned its back to Sinnar, Nandgaon, Malegaon and Baglan talukas.
Nashik taluka received highest 41 mm rainfall. Igatpuri taluka recorded 14 mm rainfall, whereas Trimbakeshwar witnessed 20 mm rainfall. Peth and Surgana received 18 mm and 10 mm rainfall respectively.
When 10 talukas in the district are receiving incessant rainfall, there were no rains at Nandgaon, Baglan, Deola and Malegaon talukas. Yeola received 7 mm rainfall. Niphad and Sinnar however witnessed light rains. Sinnar received 12 mm rainfall on Saturday, whereas Niphad recorded 5 mm rainfall. Niphad witnessed 2 mm rainfall yesterday, while Sinnar recorded zero rainfall. Kalvan and Dindori talukas recorded heavy rainfall.
Meanwhile, 550 cusecs water was discharged from Darna dam. Igatpuri taluka recorded 74 mm rainfall in last 24 hours. So far, 958 mm rainfall has been recorded in the taluka. Water level in Darna, Bhavali and Waki dams is increasing due incessant rains in western belt.
