Procession organised in city to mark jayanti of Lord Mahaveer
Nashik: Marking the Jayanti of Lord Mahaveer, a procession was organized in the city on Tuesday. Members of the Jain community participated in it in large numbers. The procession was organized by Jain Seva Sangh.
The procession began from Dahipool in the city. Street dramas were presented at various places during the procession to spread awareness among voters. In addition, a chariot explaining the importance of cow became a cynosure of all.
Acharya Bhavya Bhushan Surishwarji Adi Thana, Shivsundar Vijay Thana, Shankarla Gang, Ashok Modi, Kantilal Kothari, Ajay Bramhecha, Paras Lohade and others took part in the procession.
The procession which commenced from Dahipool traversed through Chintamani Parshwanath Jain Shwetabar temple, Old Tambat lane, Shri Digambar Jain temple Bhadrakali, Ashok Stambh and via Gangapur Road was culminated at Chopada banquet hall.
Jain Seva Sangh president Pavan Patani informed about the historic importance of the festival and stated that Jain community is strengthening due to this. Jain social group chief Mugdha Shah in her speech informed about the procession. Rajendra Pahade, Jayesh Shah and Lalit Modi compared the programme, while Sumeet Patwa proposed the vote of thanks.
