The local branch unit of Nandurbar police sized a dumper and confiscated goods worth Rs 35 lakhs including gutkha of Rs 10 lacs and detained six persons at Nizar Village in wee hours of Thursday.
According to the police sources, the crime branch unit of Nandurbar police received a tip about illegal transportation of gutkha is done from Gujrath state to Nandurbar. Acting on the received tip, the crime branch unit laid trap at Nizar village near Nandurbar on Maharashtra Gujrath state highway.
Today in the wee hours, the police saw a dumper coming towards Nandurbar. The police felt suspicious about dumper and stopped the dumper aside of the road and conducted search and investigation.
In the search, the police found a banned guthka worth Rs. 10 lacs illegally transported from Gujrat to Nandurbar. The police sized a dumper and have detained 6 person including the dumper owner and have registered a criminal offense against them at Nandurbar police station and further investigation is on.
