PM reviews malnourishment status
Nashik: Malnourishment is the biggest hurdle in the development of children in the country. Every child in the country should get proper nutrition. First, three years are very important for the physical development of the child.
There is a need for cooperation by all for the eradication of malnourishment, stated Prime Minister Narendra Modi through a video conferencing. He reviewed measures to clear problems related to malnourishment and progress about this through this video conferencing.
Nashik, Nandurbar and Ahmednagar districts were selected from Maharashtra for this.
Deputy chief executive officer of Zilla Parishad Duttatray Mundhe, health officer Vijay Dekate, health department officials and Asha workers were present for the video conference held at the district collectorate.
Prime Minister Modi reviewed the current status of nutrition and related issues. Earlier, malnourishment in a tribal district at Chhattisgarh was reviewed. Thereafter, review of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Manipur and Jammu and Kashmir and Nandurbar district in Maharashtra was taken.
Asha workers in Nandurbar informed how they provide first aid to patients and efforts for eradication of malnourishment.
