Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Saturday chaired the ongoing police event, in which the top police officials of the country have gathered to discuss key internal security-related issues.
Inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday, the All India Annual Conference of States Police Chief being was being held at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research(IISER) in Pashan area of the city.
The PM arrived here on Friday night and was accorded welcome by the Home Minister, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis.
To be concluded on Sunday, this assembly of Director/Inspector Generals of Police assumes more significance in the aftermath of encounter killings of four accused in Hyderabad rape-murder case and the Unnao rape-arson episode.
