Plan for kharip season, instructs Mandhare
Nashik: The district received a deficient rainfall last year than on an average rainfall. Make planning for the kharip season to provide a supporting hand to farmers in drought condition which has been created due to this, instructed District Collector Suraj Mandhare. He was speaking in district level pre-review meeting of the kharip season.
District superintending agriculture officer Sanjeev Padval, superintending engineer of water resources department Rajesh More, executive engineer Sagar Shinde, executive engineer of Zilla Parishad water resources department Mangesh Khairnar and deputy chief executive officer of Zilla Parishad Patil were present.
Mandhare instructed officials to understand the requirement of farmers in the district for seeds, fertilizers and pesticides. Considering restructuring of farmers loan, disbursal of crop loan and availability of seeds from Mahabeej and private companies, the District Collector took a review of the preparation of proposals of demand for seeds, supply of seeds, planning of fertilisers and Prime Minister crop insurance scheme.
District superintending agriculture officer Sanjeev Padval informed that sowing on 6.34 lakh hectares of land has been proposed for the year 2019-20. 4.47 lakh hectares of the field has been proposed for cereals in the kharip season 2019-20.
A total of 15.55 lakh metric tonnes of production has been proposed through them, he informed further. A total of 1.09 lakh hectares of the field has been proposed for oilseed crops.
Meanwhile, management of monsoon will be made through micro-irrigation and efforts will be made to achieve a target of 1820 kg gram per hectare during the productivity of soybean crop. Rice is a principal crop in the western belt of the district and sowing on 0.88 lakh hectares of the field will be proposed, Padval said.
