‘Pen down’ strike by supply dept employees starts

Nashik: The employees from supply department have started to observe a ‘pen down’ strike to press for not to fill up the post of supply inspector through direct recruitment process, fulfill assurances which were given four years ago and other demands. If these demands are not met, will stop work from October 10, warned revenue employees organisation. The employees staged demonstrations opposite the district collectorate.

The state supply department had recently ordered to recruit the post of supply inspector through the direct recruitment process. There will be injustice against senior clerks in revenue department due to this. There will be difficulties in their promotion. Revenue employees had given a letter about their various demands four years back to the state government.

The then Deputy Chief Minister, Revenue Minister and revenue secretary had accepted their demands and assured to fulfill them immediately. However, no separate or government order has issued yet. The organisation had given a letter recently for fulfillment of demands, but current government is neglecting them. Considering this, employees decided to observe the strike again, it was informed.

Accordingly, work at supply department was stopped. Entire revenue department will observe ‘stop work’ strike from October 10, it was warned. The employees were present in supply department, but they did not work. 25 employees from the district collectorate and 143 employees from supply department in the district are participated in the strike.
