After the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spoke to Uddhav Thackeray over Palghar mob lynching incident, District Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh suspended two cops for dereliction of duties during the grisly episode, a police source confirmed on Monday.
The suspended cops have been identified as Assistant Inspector Anandrao Kale and Sub-inspector Sudhir Katare, both of whom, are attached with the Kasa Police Station in Dahanu taluka of this district.
Expressing concern over the killings of three, including a senior citizen, CM Yogi asked his Maharashtra counterpart to sternly punish the culprits.
Meanwhile, the ruling dispensation has also set up a high-level probe into the incident after the Opposition BJP averred that the Home Minister Anil Deshmukh should step down taking moral responsibility of the sensational case.
