Notices issued to 25 wadas
Nashik: There were ten incidents in which dangerous wadas and buildings collapsed in last 19 days in the city. Every year, Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has issued notices to 397 dangerous wadas, houses and buildings. However, after collapse of a wada in Old Nashik on June 28, the town planning department surveyed dangerous buildings in the city again. 25 dangerous wadas and buildings which are not on NMC record have been found and notices have immediately been issued to them.
The issue of dangerous wadas and buildings in the city has come to the fore during every monsoon. While urging the concerned to vacate dangerous wadas and buildings, NMC has warned to use police force to vacate the dangerous wadas and buildings if needed.

After inspecting the spot, the Municipal Commissioner had instructed the town planning department to survey dangerous wadas and buildings again. During the survey, 25 wadas and buildings which are not on NMC record have been found. With this the number of dangerous structures increased to 422.
The notices have been issued to new 25 dangerous structures and concerned have been asked to vacate them immediately and shift to a safer place. In addition, police force will be used to vacate dangerous wadas and buildings, it has been warned. The staircase of old building collapsed in Sukenkar lane, Panchavati.
In addition, Kamble wada collapsed in Old Nashik. Recently, Nakil wada collapsed in Khaire lane. Due to incessant rainfall last week, portion of dangerous structures collapsed at many places in the city. In this way, 10 incidents have occurred in the ciy. NMC has taken a serious note to prevent mishap due to collapse of dangerous structures in the city.
