No fire incident during Diwali
This year Nashikites have succeeded in showing their efforts as a good citizens. The city in this Diwali didn’t record a single fire incident related to firecrackers. Nashik Municipal Corporation fire department chief informed that the city didn’t witnessed any fire incident this year.
The fire and emergency service department of NMC had set up six temporary fire stations in the city to handle emergencies during Diwali. The department had set up the temporary fire station at Dongre Vastigruh ground, Golf Club, Pawan Nagar in Cidco, Club House at Satpur, Tapovan and Jail Road.
“The temporary fire stations were on stand by 24×7 during Diwali festival, where firecracker shops have been set up. The Corporation already had given guidelines to the firecrackers vendors about fire safety and we also made them sign an undertaking and only after that we gave them permission to set up firecracker shops,” said chief fire officer Sanjay Bairagi.
The citizens of Nashik responded positively to the request of the Corporation and fire department. Nashikites celebrated safe Diwali and no firecrackers fire incident was reported.
