NMC conducts cleanliness drive at Tulja Bhavani Chowk


New Nashik : After more than 50 patients were found suffering from dengue like disease at Tulja Bhavani Chowk area in New Nashik, NMC, malaria department, medical officials at district civil hospital and employees squad visited residences in the area and inspected them. Patients suffering from infectious diseases are being searched by these squads and action has been started to prevent spread of the disease.

Flower pots, refrigerator, cooler, water storage tanks and scrapped tyers were inspected during the drive. An awareness is being created among citizens about importance of cleanliness, health care and causes behind mosquito breeding. Pamphlets were also distributed. Fogging is being conducted every evening. Gappi fishes have been released at required places.

Citizens expressed their disappointment for late action. This happened in Tulja Bhavani Chowk due to inaction by NMC administration.

During inspection by corporator Kalpana Pande two days back, patients suffering from dengue like disease and infectious diseases were found. After she made aware NMC health officials with this, administration has woken up and has started to conduct cleanliness drive there. A squad of medical officials from the district hospital is checking the citizens.

NMC’s Dr. Vivek Gaikwad, Balasaheb Mokal, Chandrakant Bombale, Nadeem Pathan, officials and employees from various departments took part in the drive.
