NMC administration directed to seal illegally held properties
NMC Standing Committee chairman on Thursday directed the administration to seal the properties of the Corporation which were leased earlier and their contracts has been completed or are used for commercial use by the organizations to which they were allotted. It has also been ordered that the rent should be collected with interest which has been pending by these organizations.
The chairman gave this decision after members went furious over the issue of badminton court at Gangapur. It was also decided that the properties of Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) will not be given for commercial use at all.
The proposal of restoration works at badminton court of Shivsatya Ground, Gangapur Road, came in for discussions in the standing committee meeting. Members opposed this proposal as the building was in use without any proper contract with NMC.
They went furious and said that the said property is of the NMC and is been under use illegally, but the administration has not taken any action regarding the same. The revenue of the Corporation is getting lost due to this. A member said that the previous contract of the building which was done on Sept 8, 1987, has come to an end two years ago. He asked whether the administration was sleeping all these years.
Another member highlighted that Jija Hall at Tulsi Nagar which was vacated recently was illegally used for ten years and now has been given to the same person on lease. The community hall at Saubhagya Nagar is commercially used for gymnasium but no action was taken. It’s been illegally run with friendly relations of NMC officials, alleged members.
Standing Committee chairman Uddhav Nimse ordered immediate action on the issue of community hall of Suabhagya Nagar and badminton court at Gangapur Road and directed to seal the properties. He said the administration, especially the divisional officials should have to take the permission of standing committee and Municipal Commissioner before leasing out properties of NMC.
