Amidst increased load of patients on the backdrop of shortage of laboratories which is causing delay in getting report, diagnosis and an isolation of patients, esds software solution has come up with a novel test AA+, wherein patient’s chest x-ray is used for the diagnosis of the COVID-19. Under the software, there is no touch, there is no swab, there is no blood required for this patient. Only patient’s X-ray is taken. The X-ray is screened by the software.
Dr Shekhar Chirmade, senior neurosurgeon working in Nashik at Ashoka Medi cover Hospital, said that through this novel tool we are able to get the report within two to three minutes.
“Very proud to announce that our AA+ Covid-19 software developed by ESDS research team is able to detect asymptomatic patients as well and there have been multiple cases in last 2 days where the patients who got infected in last 24-48 hours have been detected positive in our Software,” revealed Dr. Chirmade, a leading doctor in North Maharashtra.
The susceptibility and sensitivity of the test is very good and we have a screened x-rays of few of our patients which whoever Covid positive, early stage patients, late stage patients and also covid negative patients and where we have seen even though the patient was asymptomatic and Covid positive and X-rays were normal, the software solution has given a high range of suspects and the patients with the clear cut chances of the pneumonitis. Viral pneumonitis patients have also diagnosed as a high suspect on the X-ray, he said.
“I think this is really a novel solution for the diagnosis of the patient in future and there may be increased load of patients and we may not be able to do swab, throat tests of all the patients,” he said.
“But this screening test will be very useful tool for the early diagnosis and early suspect. So this AA+ test has been used as a supportive tool for the treatment of patients suspecting COVID-19,” Dr Chirmade said. He further said that x-ray can be used with the software and patient can be treated accordingly. We have started using this tool. This test can be used as a screening test to segregate the patients and treat accordingly, he added.
