NCP to organise march today
Nashik: Nationalist Congress Party will organise a march to Nashik Municipal Corporation head office today (Sept. 10) to protest hike in property tax by Municipal Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe and to press for other demands. The march will be led by former District Guardian Minister Chhagan Bhujbal.
Following 18% hike in property tax by General Body Meeting, Municipal Commissioner Mundhe hiked the property tax in his powers. Nashikites were angry over this and took to the street against this.
Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party conducted a special General Body Meeting and Mayor Ranjana Bhansi scrapped the order by the Municipal Commissioner and resolution regarding the property tax. Despite this, the Municipal Commissioner rolled back the hike to 50%.
Considering anger among Nashikites, Nationalist Congress Party demanded to scrap the entire property tax hike. In addition, it will be demanded to scrap the hike against open spaces and farmlands, do not demolish residences in New Nashik area and others.
