Nashik’s first ‘No hawkers zone’ on the anvil in Indiranagar

Indiranagar : City’s first ‘No hawkers’ zone’ is likely to be a reality soon as the street vendors and hawkers in suburb of Indiranagar have agreed to relocate themselves to Sainathnagar area, thus paving the way to end traffic bottlenecks in areas of crowded Bapu Bungalow and Rathchakra Chowk.
The residents of Indiranagar have thus taken a sigh of relief and welcomed the decision wholeheartedly.

Local corporator Dr Deepali Kulkarni took the initiative by organising a crucial meeting between the concerned municipal authority and the local street vendors to find a way out of the problem of traffic congestion in Indiranagar locality.

The meeting attended by street hawkers and vegetable vendors in key presence of municipal dy commissioner (anti-encroachment) Bhausaheb Phadol was held in an amicable atmosphere at Ajinkya auditorium here in which vendors were introduced to an alternative place ‘Sainathnagar’ for carrying out their day-to-day businesses.

A new optional market place is being developed at Sainathnagar in which a system of draw of lots will be applied to allot places to the vendors, to be shifted from Indiranagar locality.
