Nashik: The ZP health department in association with Unicef, Centre and state government will conduct ‘Mission Indradhanush’ from today (Oct. 8) to reduce number of child deaths, safe motherhood and to maintain health of pregnant women. 3,279 children and 534 mothers will be immunized under this.
As some children and mothers refrained during regular immunization programme, the health department has decided to conduct first phase of ‘Mission Indradhanush’ from October 8 to 16. 453 places have been fixed for this in the district. For this, a guidance was provided to all health officials, assistants of primary health centres, anganwadi activists and Asha group members in the district.
The Mission will be conducted in four phases. Health employees will visit all villages which fall under primary health centre and rural health centre and immunize women and children. The health department has put up posters and banners to create awareness about the Mission.
A students’ rally will be organised and information will be given in meetings of women. The subject should be discussed in rural meeting and conduct the Mission effectively in the villages, it has been instructed. Women and children should immunize themselves, urged district health officer Dr. Sushil Wakchoure. ZP CEO Deepakkumar Meena instructed to make a micro planning for the Mission.
