Nashik : Laying emphasis on the safety of students and their safe journey, state transport minister Diwakar Raote will today issue as many as 900 transport permits to school vehicle operators in the city.
Minister Raote will attend Chaalak-Maalak Melawa (driver-owner camp), organised by Vaahtuk Sena, a transport wing of Shiv Sena today (Sunday) at 12.30 pm to distribute city transport permits. The camp will be led by senior Sena leader Devanand Birari and district chief Ajim Sayyad.
“Before issuing transport permits, the broad objective of Sena will be ‘safe journey of students’,” said Shiv Sena city chief Ajay Boraste. State minister Dada Bhuse and Vaahtuk Sena president Uday Dalvi will also remain present.
In the first session of the camp, a demo will be given on alertness and precaution to be taken during emergency while transporting students. The objective behind this is to protect the life of students and to ensure their safe journey. Guidance will also be provided on how to ensure safe travelling of school students.
The Sena is eyeing to make “safe journey of school students” a brand and distribute 1500 more permits in future, the Sena sources revealed.
