“On one hand we are, as the COVID-19 warriors, getting positive response from district administration despite a shortage of healthcare manpower, while unfortunately on the other hand, misconceptions are being spread about medical practitioners attending to the corona patients.”

“These COVID-19 warriors are also facing physical attacks. Therefore, the time has come to create awareness about medical literacy among the masses,” said Dr Pankaj Ashiya, incident manager and chief of Emergency Operation Centre, Malegaon.

“According to IMA president Dr Mayur Shah a total of 50 private doctors, including 35 paediatricians and 15 cardiologists in the city, have been planned and scheduled for rendering medical services till the end of June 2020,” informed Dr Ashiya.

Citing increasing attacks on doctors, literacy about medical services need to be created among the relatives of the patients. Under changing situations, doctors should maintain patience while relatives of the patients need to realise the gravity of the situation and must co-operate with the doctors, nurses, medical staff attending to them, Dr Ashiya urged.

“For sure, victory is ours if we mobilised against the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic,” exuded confidence by Dr Ashiya.
