Mayor Bhansi promises cooperation for eco-friendly Ganeshotsav


Nashik: NMC will provide all type of co-operation to those public mandals which celebrate the upcoming Ganeshotsav using environment-friendly material, stated Mayor Ranjana Bhansi.

A meeting organised by NMC health department in record room at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan regarding eco-friendly celebration of Ganeshotsav took place in presence of Bhansi. Additional Municipal Commissioner Kishore Borde, Deputy Mayor Prathamesh Gite, standing committee chairperson Shivaji Gangurde, house leader Dinkar Patil, group leader Sambhaji Moruskar, divisional prabhag committee chairperson Hemlata Patil, office bearers and NMC officials were present. Office bearers of public mandals, social organisations, company and college representatives were also present.

Health officer Dr. Sunil Bukane urged to use Shadu soil for making idol of lord Ganesh and use ammonium bi-carbonate during immersion of the idol. He also informed about the concept of ‘single village, single Ganpati’ concept and celebration of Ganeshotsav in eco-friendly way.

Presidents, office bearers of Ganesh mandals and representatives of social organisations were present in large numbers. Representatives of many mandals expressed their views. Disucssions were held on opening of one window for permission to Ganesh mandals, provide two dust bins to every mandal and creation of artificial pond in the the city. Representatives of mandals assured to provide all types of co-operation for NMC to celebrate Ganeshotsav in the eco-friendly way.

Corporator Madhuri Bolkar, Priyanka Mane, corporator Diksha Londhe, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Bahiram, superintending engineer U B Pawar and others were present.
