Leopard trapped in barbed wire rescued by forest dept
Nashik : The Nashik East Zone Forest Department rescued a adult leopard from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) premises of Ojhar. The leopard was rescued by the forest department early morning on Sunday. The forest officials tranquilized the leopard and took him out from the fencing barbed wire.
The animal was then rescued by the forest officials. The forest officials took it to veterinary hospital and gave it necessary treatment. The forest department on Sunday morning got a call from a unknown person that a leopard had been trapped in a fencing’s barbed wire in Ojhar near HAL premises.
The rescue team of Nashik East Zone immediately arrived at the spot. The team saw that the adult leopard was trapped in fence wires and bleeding from his mouth. The officials then tried to see the way out to rescue the animal. The rescue team then decided to tranquillize the leopard.
The officials informed, “The leopard was trapped from night. He got several injuries due to the barbed wire of the fence. His mouth was bleeding when we arrived. We decided not trouble the animal as he could have injured himself, so we tranquillized him.”
The officials then took him to the veterinary hospital, where he was treated on his injuries. The leopard will be released after doctor declares him fit.
