Prisoners donate Rs 2,78000 to CM relief fund
Humanity holds no bar was yet again proved when the Nashik Road Central Jail prisoners collectively donated Rs 2,78,000 to the CM relief fund for aiding the State’s fight against the COVID-19.
The prisoners made donations from their earned wages, after feeling the socially responsibility to cripple the pandemic. This is not the first time that these persons have heeded the call of conscience during this hour of crisis.
When the citizens faced dearth of masks in the markets, the prisoners extended the helping hand and put to use their tailoring art by stitching huge quantities of masks in mean time.
Now, around 3,000 prisoners once again came together and made donations from their meagre wages. The cheque was handed over to District Collector Suresh Mandhare.
